Times where virtually everyone has been replaced by robots emulating persons, or remotely controlled bodies doing effectively the same thing.

Basically this is a Terran descended time traveling criminal phrase with too many meanings to define precisely for all to appreciate easily.

If your interpretation of this phrase is that societies are disguising their level of technological sophistication, for whatever purpose, and are essentially playing a "true fake game", again, for whatever purpose, you should question why you know some things about this planet, such as perhaps at least one language, but do not know all the rest of the important facts, or even the functional ones that would indicate that your society effectively manufactured this one.
